Jul 02, 2026"One of the most famous spots for sate klathak in Jogja! If you’re in the area, Sate Klathak Pak Pong is definitely a place many people recommend. For those who aren’t familiar, sate klathak is a traditional Yogyakarta-style satay made from chunks of goat meat that are simply seasoned with salt and grilled on iron skewers. The iron skewers help conduct heat evenly, which gives the meat that juicy, slightly smoky flavor. The meat here is tender, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with the warm curry-like soup that usually comes with it. Simple seasoning, but when done right like this, it really hits the spot. BUT… one thing you need to prepare yourself for: patience. The food here takes a looooong time to arrive. And I’m not exaggerating. I’ve been coming here for years, and somehow the waiting time is still the same every single visit So here’s my survival tip: eat some snacks before coming here. Seriously. Don’t arrive when you’re starving unless you’re ready to wait. Overall, still worth trying for the experience and the iconic Jogja dish — just make sure you bring your patience along with your appetite"

Though, there's a slight lamb smell on the lamb satay. The "otak-otak" which you can order for appetizer is magnificent! It's a must to have them if you dine here."

Jun 29, 2026"The satay klathak at Pak Phong was genuinely delicious. The meat was tender, well-grilled, and had a simple but distinctive seasoning that brought out the natural flavor of the lamb. The smoky aroma from the grill made it even better, and the taste felt authentic without being overly salty or heavy. Overall, it was a satisfying experience and definitely worth trying, especially for anyone who wants to enjoy one of Yogyakarta’s most iconic dishes."
